
Jared B. Steed
Jared (he/him) has handled over 300 criminal and civil appeals in the Washington Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, resulting in 30 published opinions, and winning reversals in adult and juvenile criminal cases and parental rights matters. Before becoming a partner in the firm, Jared also worked as an associate and Rule 9 Legal Intern for Nielsen Koch & Grannis. Although Jared's practice continues to emphasize appellate representation, he has also represented clients in criminal cases and family law proceedings at the trial court level.
Born and raised in the Seattle area, Jared attended Pacific Lutheran University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History. He graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where he was a member of the Rosalie Wahl Moot Court Competition Team.
Jared is passionate about ensuring that public defender wages are commensurate with other government funded attorney salaries and he has repeatedly testified before the Washington State Legislature about the need for increased public defense funding.
