Angel Lee
Angel (she/her) joined Nielsen Koch & Grannis in 2026 after several years as a trial attorney at the King County Department of Public Defense. She earned her B.A. from the University of California, Riverside in 2017 and her J.D. from UCLA Law in 2022, specializing in Critical Race Studies and Public Interest. As a law student, she interned at public defense offices in Anchorage, Contra Costa County, and King County, where she drafted the motion for City of Seattle v. Christopher Markham, one of three cases considered en banc by the Seattle Municipal Court in ordering the suppression of all blood toxicology results for certain drugs tested by the Washington State Toxicology Lab between March 2018 and October 2021 due to contamination.
Before becoming an attorney, Angel spent her days with the kia'i (protectors) of Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawai'i, imperfectly but enthusiastically working on farms in Hawai'i, Japan, and Chile, and rock climbing. She is just okay at climbing but can proudly belay other climbers up to 5.12c.
